Kia ora whānau,
I hope everyone is doing well in their bubbles and is enjoying some of the small freedoms we are able to have these holidays!
This afternoon the Prime Minister announced that, at this stage, distance learning is to resume for the majority of students from the start of Term 4. This is not really the news any of us were hoping for, however with the numbers of cases recently, it is not too surprising.
The Ministry of Education will be sending out their bulletin for schools later tonight (I assume!). This will provide a lot more of the detail and guidance for schools relating to today's announcements and the senior leadership team will be better able to plan and make decisions for the start of term. I am assuming that parents who have to work and are unable to arrange for suitable childcare will still be able to send their child to Bubble School if they wish to, but I am not 100% sure! I will send out a more detailed email tomorrow once the bulletin has been received about what the start of term will look like.
The best thing we can do at the moment to get us out of Level 3 is to increase the rates of vaccination. The Shot Cuzz bus will be at Randwick Park School tomorrow and Wednesday for those who have yet to receive their shot - and there are free kai packs to give away to those who do get their vaccine. Might be worth a shot! :)
I will be in touch tomorrow :)
