Covid 19 Update

14th February 2021

Kia ora whanau,

I am sure you will have now heard the Prime Ministers announcement that Auckland will be entering Alert Level 3 from 11.59p.m. tonight and will remain in Level 3 for three days.  This message is to provide you with information regarding what will happen during this lockdown.

Under Alert Level 3, everyone is asked to stay home in their bubbles and work from home if possible to avoid any risk of the virus spreading.  Children are expected to stay home from school unless their parent is an essential worker who is unable to arrange for someone to look after their child.

From tomorrow morning, we will only be having a skeleton staff on site at school (ie the senior leadership team and office staff). All teachers and other staff will remain working from home for the next three days.

If you are an essential worker and are unable to organise for someone to look after your child over the next three days, they are able to attend bubble school.  We need to know how many students we will be catering for so we can make the best decision for everyone and plan appropriately.  Please complete this form if you need your child to come to school tomorrow and/or Friday as you are an essential worker.  Bubble school will operate under strict health restrictions; we follow the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education to ensure our tamariki remain safe while at school.

Tomorrow, I have scheduled a "zoom" meeting with staff at 9.00a.m.  I am sure that parents understand that this announcement has caught us all unawares, however, as a school we have planned for this.  We just need a little time to become fully operational under these new restrictions!  I will have more detailed information for parents about our distance learning programme and how students will be able access this from Wednesday.

We can do this whanau! We have done it before!

Stay safe, stay home and as always, email me if you have any questions.
