PLANS AND POLICIES

Review EOTC policy and procedures in line with updated 2009 MoE guidelines handbook.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Goal:
Enable students to access the wider curriculum by developing literacy and numeracy achievement to meet National Standards.
|
Develop a shared understanding of school achievement targets and the role each individual has to ensure their achievement.
Deepen teachers understanding of the links between National Standards & the NZ Curriculum through involvement with Manurewa Literacy Cluster and Numeracy Cluster.
Further develop teacher capacity to use formative assessment practises across the curriculum to support learning, in particular student goal setting and sharing of success criteria.
Improve the quality of written feedback given to students in books.
Support students to understand the standards and their goals in relation to them.
Deepen statistical and assessment capacity of teachers including use of data to inform appropriate learning activities.
Provide professional development for staff in the use of AsTTle Writing
Review and revise school wide assessment practices in relation to National Standards – including the introduction of Student Portfolios.

LEARNING PROGRAMMES
Goal:
Provide a high quality education through the delivery of a balanced curriculum that promotes high levels of achievement and performance.
Nurture individual gifts and talents of students by providing opportunities for them to participate in a wide range of specialized activities
Provide equitable opportunities for students to confidently use ICT and to access and provide information and communicate with others

Learning Languages – develop framework for the teaching of Te Reo as our identified second language.
Provide professional development for staff in the use of “Ka mau te wehi” resources.
Monitor the delivery of school curriculum plan across the school.
Deliberately plan opportunities for collaborative planning to support the delivery of a connected curriculum.
MANUREWA LITERACY CLUSTER SCHOOLING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME:
· Develop a shared understanding of effective literacy practices and programmes known to support improved student achievement.
· Strengthen teacher knowledge and understanding of learning progressions in Literacy and Mathematics.
· Review and refine how we make connections within and across the curriculum.
· Review intervention programmes for students requiring additional learning support.
Review provision of programmes to support GATE students and identify areas for improvement..
Review provision of career education programme
Monitor and review implementation of inquiry learning across the school.
Increase student use of a wide range of tools to support learning across the curriculum.
Develop guidelines for the integration of ICT across the curriculum.
