Principal’s Welcome

Greetings, Kia Ora, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Malo e lelei, Talofa lava, Taloha, Ki a Orana Ni Hao, Buenos Dias, Chao Malo ni, Habari Dobar Dan, Namaste, Bonjour …

Greenmeadows Intermediate is a great school and coming here is an excellent choice!

The intermediate years of schooling are a very special time in a child’s life.  It is the beginning of many new experiences and it is our hope that students find their time with us both challenging and rewarding.

The NZ Curriculum recognises the “middle years” (Year 7 – 10) as a distinctly different learning experience to traditional primary and secondary schooling pathways.

During this time, this age group is maturing physically and developing emotionally; they require a school environment that is geared to meeting their unique learning, physical, emotional and social needs.  Greenmeadows Intermediate School is well placed to do this as was recognised by the Education Review Office in August 2016; our school is once again placed on the 4 – 5 year review cycle.  Click here to read our full 2016 ERO report.

Being the Principal of Greenmeadows is a very rewarding job!  I joined the staff in May 2008 and enjoy being part of an exciting, vibrant learning environment with settled, engaged students and a strongly committed teaching staff who are all specialists in teaching this particular age group.

Greenmeadows Intermediate prides itself on welcoming students from all walks of life through our doors.  We have a strongly inclusive culture and celebrate the differences amongst our students, staff and community.  We do not currently have an enrolment zone – anyone can choose to attend our school.

It is our hope that this website will provide the information are seeking about our school.  We welcome visitors  – feel free to ring the school office and make a time to come and see our school in action!

Warm regards
Cathy Chalmers
