Kia ora whanau,

This term in Visual Art students are learning to draw Manga, a very popular style of art found in Japanese graphic novels.

It's only week one of the term but allready there's been some fantastic results! Students are really enjoying the process and I'm finding that even students who aren't normally as confident in drawing are having success.

We are working collaboratively on this project with each student drawing an individual scene and presenting it with four or five other students to make up a complete page.

2011 has seen some awesome creativity from our students here at GIS.

This year we're doing things a little differently. By linking our programs in with the school wide topic, specialist teachers are working towards a more connected curriculum.
