Stationery

A stationery pack list will be sent out in December to all students who have enrolled for the following year.  We also email the list out at the end of January.  Packs can be purchased at a very competitive rate from the school.  Packs can be ordered and paid for on Kindo;  the pack is then delivered to your child in class. Alternatively, parents can purchase from the office at school.  We have Eftpos on site.

After Term 1, students are able to buy individual replacement stationery items from the resource room.

School Uniform

The school encourages students to have pride in their appearance. The correct school uniform should be worn at ALL times when students are travelling to and from school as well as during the school day.

Uniforms are available from:

The Warehouse, Manukau……………. 54 Cavendish Drive, Manukau

The Uniform Shoppe…………………...1 Ronwood Ave, Manukau

Take Home Component Specialist Charge

The Board of Trustees asks all families to pay a Take Home Component Specialist Charge of $30.00 towards the costs of the wide range of additional programmes and resources provided at Greenmeadows.   Without this contribution, the Board would find it very challenging to offer such a wide range of experiences for our students, as the Ministry of Education funding is insufficient to cover the “extras”.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

  • Please contact Ange Petera in the office if you want to set up an automatic payment.

Use of Personal Devices at School

Many of our students bring mobile phones for use before and after school.  We do not allow these to be used during school time as they tend to distract from the learning.  Teachers collect phones at the start of the day and lock them away for safe keeping.  They are released back to the child before they go home.  Electronic equipment such as ipods, portable gaming units etc are not to be brought to school.

Students found in possession of cellphones or other devices not approved by the school will have the item confiscated and parents informed.  Any items confiscated will be able to be collected by the parent/caregiver from the school office.

While we try our best to support the safe keeping of student belongings, the school is not able to accept responsibility for any digital device that may be stolen or lost.  Parents and students need to be aware of, and accept, the potentials risks involved in bringing these items to school.

Visiting the School

Visitors car parks are beside the hall.  All visitors must report to reception.  For safety reasons we ask that parents do not drive up the driveway to pick up/drop off students before and after school.

Money

Money for trips etc should be placed in an envelope with the student’s name and room number and paid to staff in the Resource Room before school. Any requests for money will always be made in writing by class teachers. Should students have money at school for personal reasons, they should give it to their teacher for safe keeping.  Money lost or stolen whilst with students is not the school’s responsibility.

MANA Kidz Clinic

Greenmeadows is very fortunate to host a Mana Kids health clinic at our school. This means we have our regular Public Health Nurse  and a whanau support worker in school every morning.

The clinic provides free health checks for all of our students to prevent Rheumatic Fever and skin infections. The whanau worker visits classes daily to ask if any students have sore throats or skin sores. These are then checked, and if necessary free treatment is organised by the Health Nurse.

Your child can only be checked at school if you give permission, and parents are encouraged to take advantage of this free service.   The form needs to be completed, even if you DON’T give permission – it is important that we know the decision you have made for your child.  The consent form is included in the enrolment pack, however you can always request one from the school office.

School Canteen

We have a school canteen which is open before school, at morning tea and lunchtime. We endeavour to promote healthy food choices and students are able to purchase a variety of options.

Lost Property

All students clothing should be clearly named.  Obviously everyone’s uniform looks the same and nearly all are of the same size!

Lost property is kept at the reception and students are encouraged to check there if they have lost clothing.

At the end of each term any remaining property is displayed for viewing.
